Photoshop and Photo Ethics. . .

Green on Blue. . .


I was working with backgrounds yesterday. I kinda liked the look that the mottled blue and white sky gave, against the green of the spruce bows. As you would expect, the camera (in order to get the sky the right exposure) underexposed the branches, giving me black branches against a blue sky. . .but I didn’t like that. I corrected the exposure of the branches in Photoshop, and fixed the noise in noiseware. I guess it’s up to the photographer and their own personal “photo ethics. . .” but for me, I always want the image to look as close as it can to what my eye saw. So, in this case, the brightening of the branches just brought the image back to what my eyes were actually seeing - green branches against a pale blue and white sky.

Artistic. . .

I took this a while ago, but I just now converted it to B&W, increased the red, and yellow. Gave it a little splotchy look with one of the filters, then I gave it a ratty border and called it good. Kinda almost looks like a tintype :D

If Looks could Kill

I ran outside to see the moose feeding on the lawn :S So I ran closer. . .and she didn't look too happy to be pushed off her new food spot :P
I got within about 50 feet, then she put her ears back, so I left her be. . .stupid photographer, eh?
